Ads are filling the entirety of the Web -- websites, podcasts, YouTube videos, etc. -- at an increasing rate. Prices for those ad placements are plummeting. Consumers are desperate to use ad-blockers to make the web palatable. Google (and others) are desperate to break and block ad-blockers. All of which results in... more ads and lower pay for creators.
It's a fascinatingly annoying cycle. And there's only one viable way out of it.

Those in power with openSUSE make it clear they will not allow me anywhere near anything related to the openSUSE project. Ever. For any reason.
Well, that settles that, then! Guess I won't be contributing to openSUSE! 🤣

I went to check on Ladybird browser progress. a couple of interesting tidbits:
iPhone Fake Bokeh - Rocks
3 generation jump between the 13 Pro and 16 Pro Max and I can definitely see improvement.
Same photo - just different choices in how narrow the depth of field and where I put the focus. In the left most it was “as shot” no fake bokeh. Middle is f1.8 (via algorithm) with focus on the eyes. And the one on the left is 1.8 with focus on the nose.
When I’m shooting a real camera and my f1.8 lens, I can indeed have shots where the nose or the eyes are in focus. Even with one eye in focus and one not.
But with a real camera, I can’t change the depth of field after the shot to fix it when I screwed up.
When Apple first introduced “portrait mode” it wasn’t nearly this good.
This is also an indoor shot and while not super low low light, I can see this is better than I’m used to getting as a result.
Second photo, the outdoor shot is with a real camera’ long lens, f4 aperture. On the right is the indoor iPhone “fake bokeh” / portrait mode.

What a crazy few weeks in the Lunduke household! Moved into a new house. Had two birthday. Oh. And a hurricane. Can't forget the friggin' hurricane.
But that didn't stop the crazy Tech news from continuing to roll in! Plus we had a healthy dose of fun looks at rather quirky software. Which is always a good thing.
