#SundaySounds Retro Stereo Achieved

I had to debug all my wiring and ended up removing the “speaker pin plugs” that I had added to make better connections. They worked in my garage setup. But, alas, when I put them on new speaker wire in my living room they didn’t. Don’t know why.

I spent $220 total on Facebook market place with the desire of setting up a starter system who’s components I can upgrade over time. The goal was music listening superior to my HomePods. And maybe, as a side benefit, surround sound for movies.

Cerwin Vegas bookshelf speakers, a Yamaha receiver, Boston Accoustics surrounds, and a Sony center channel, and Polk powered sub.

They do sound better than my HomePods, no surprise. There are 6 speakers and all of them larger than a HomePod.

A LOT more hassle to get the system setup. And it’s not like I can easily move them into a different room like I can with HomePods.

Music sounds wonderful. Love the bass. I attached the AppleTv for streaming music and movies....

The War for Linux

Widespread discrimination based on Ethnicity, Religion, & Politics across the Linux World. Red Hat, IBM, The Linux Foundation, GNOME, elementary, Linux Mint, and more are involved -- bullies working to exclude those they don't like.

They are at war against the very soul of the Linux and Open Source world.

The futility of Ad-Blockers

Ads are filling the entirety of the Web -- websites, podcasts, YouTube videos, etc. -- at an increasing rate. Prices for those ad placements are plummeting. Consumers are desperate to use ad-blockers to make the web palatable. Google (and others) are desperate to break and block ad-blockers. All of which results in... more ads and lower pay for creators.

It's a fascinatingly annoying cycle. And there's only one viable way out of it.

Those in power with openSUSE make it clear they will not allow me anywhere near anything related to the openSUSE project. Ever. For any reason.

Well, that settles that, then! Guess I won't be contributing to openSUSE! 🤣

Does anyone else’s tech preferences translate into vehicles? For example, I’m bidding on a 2003 Porsche 986. It’s naturally aspirated, 5 speed standard shift, no fancy stuff involved, excellent build quality, and so on. I essentially prefer the same in my computers. Give me a computer with excellent build quality, and execute superbly on the basics… I don’t need RGB, thunderbolt, detachable stuff, hidden OSs for “security” or any of that. So, just curious on how your preferences may or may not extend beyond your computers.

I'm going to call it right here: Quantum Computing is baloney. Whenever I read a book or article on Quantum Computing, the same phrases keep poping up in my head. "Yeah, that's not how that works." and "Whoever wrote this just made that up."

Making fun of CSS will never get old. Side note: I'm still a bit grumpy about the deprecation of the CENTER tag.

It's ok if you need to crawl under your desk and cry for a bit. I won't tell anyone.

Red Hat's Company Meeting Slides - June 7, 2023

As revealed by a lawsuit against the Linux giant.

Thanks to the ongoing racial discrimination lawsuit against Red Hat, we now have the slide deck from the Red Hat Company Meeting from June 7th, 2023.

The Lunduke Journal is publishing the entirety of those slides below for study and reference (completely unedited) -- and they can also be found within the lawsuit PDF itself, as "EXHIBIT D".

While much of this is already well understood from past Red Hat leaks, it does provide additional examples of Red Hat's goals of excluding and descriminating, against their employees, based on gender and ethnicity. Particularly in Slides 8, 9, & 10.
