Earlier today, disaster struck at Lunduke Journal headquarters as a BASH script, which creates new Subscription Sales Events, was accidentally run.
"This wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't, totally accidentally, included the '-forever' parameter," stated Editor Supreme of The Lunduke Journal. "The darn thing is now stuck in a loop. Think we've launched upwards of 500,000 new Lunduke Journal Subscription Sale Events since I hit Enter."
According to a confidential informant, the error occurred while testing the new BASH script during development. "We have a firm 'Always Test In Production' rule here at the Lunduke Journal," stated the insider. "Whenever any of us suggest setting up a Test Server and not testing new code on our production server... Lunduke yells 'Never! Thunderdome!' and flips over a table."
The script in question, known as "generatesales.sh", was run as root due to another Lunduke Journal rule: "Always Run as Root".
"Always running as root isn't so much a rule," clarified Lunduke. "It's more of a 'Best Practices' sort of thing. Because running as root is just the best."
As of press time, the script was still running as, according to Lunduke, "Control-C is for quitters!"

Q: But... but... sigh never mind. Is there actually a sale happening?
A: Assuming the script worked. Yes. And I assume it worked. Because I ran it as root. Would be stupid to run a script as root when it doesn't work.
Q: Ok. So. What are the details on the sale?
A: The script put the sale details all on Lunduke.com.
Q: I think you forgot to make Lunduke.com a hyperlink right there.
A: Didn't forget. Just didn't want to waste an HREF tag. Those things don't grow on trees, ya know.
Q: They kinda ... you know what, never mind. Didn't The Lunduke Journal just have a sale recently? Isn't it weird to have another sale just like a week later or something?
A: I know, right? Stupid BASH script.
Q: Hey, do you really have an "Always Test in Production" and "Always Run as Root" policy?
A: Yes. Thunderdome.
Q: Thunderdome?
A: Thunderdome.
Q: What does that even mean?
A: It's a reference.
Q: I know that bu
