It's time for us to get some Themed Computing Weeks back on the schedule!
I love these -- getting a chance to focus on some aspect of computing that we otherwse might overlook (or simply not get time to tinker wth).
For the next four Themed Weeks, we are going to be doing the top 4 requests based on a survey I sent around earlier in the month. And, I've gotta say, all of you made some pretty excellent picks!
The tentative schedule is as follows:
- Command Line Week (Part 2) - Feb 28th through Mar 6th
- DOS Week (Part 2) - Apr 3rd through Apr 10th
- BASIC Week - May 1st through May 8th
- BBS Week - Jun 5th through Jun 12th
Fun Tidbt: BASIC Week will be scheduled to begin on the 60th anniversary of the first release of BASIC on May 1st, 1964. I've got some fun plans for that one.
If there are no significant objections, these will be locked in. Roughly one Themed Week per month. (Doing it any more frequently than that gets a little crazy.) If you think any of these should be moved, drop your thoughts in the comments of this post.
Note: There were a few Themed Weeks that were close to making the cut. Including BSD Week (Part 2), Usenet Week, OS/2 Week, and a few others. I'd like to schedule some of those for later this year.
