70% of our goal! 10 hours left in December fundraiser!

In order for The Lunduke Journal to stay Ad-Free (and Big Tech Free), we must hit a certain level of subscriptions each month.

We do these once-a-month fundraisers so that we can keep all of the shows and articles totally free of ads and promotions (and Big Tech influence) -- with roughly 10 hours left in our December fundraiser.

And -- as of this exact moment -- we are at roughly 70% of the goal we need to hit.

If the current rate of subscriptions and donations holds for the next 10 hours... we'll miss our goal (coming in at around 85% of what we need to maintain operations). We need a little boost to get over the finish line!

Truth be told, it's pretty amazing that The Lunduke Journal is able to stay afloat entirely through subscriptions and donations. All of the other Tech News outlets are struggling to survive -- even with a combination of Advertisers, Corporate Sponsorships, and Subscriptions. Pulling off what we do here is nothing short of a miracle.

Huge, massive thank you to everyone who has pitched in (both now and in the past). You make this possible.

Hopefully we can hit 100% of the goal by midnight. Fingers crossed.

The futility of Ad-Blockers

Ads are filling the entirety of the Web -- websites, podcasts, YouTube videos, etc. -- at an increasing rate. Prices for those ad placements are plummeting. Consumers are desperate to use ad-blockers to make the web palatable. Google (and others) are desperate to break and block ad-blockers. All of which results in... more ads and lower pay for creators.

It's a fascinatingly annoying cycle. And there's only one viable way out of it.

Google really wanted me to let you know about this. As my "Recommended" programming, oops I mean viewing for today.

And, it is basically them telling what some of us already realize. It is ALL going to so-called artificial intelligence (AI). It doesn't matter how much anyone cares to doubt or deny it.
