The Lunduke Journal Affiliate Program
Earn 50% per subscription.
September 29, 2024
  • Looking for a way to earn revenue from your blog, podcast, YouTube Channel, website, or social media account?
  • A monetization option which has absolutely nothing to do with Big Tech?

Well, buckle up, Buttercup.  Because The Lunduke Journal Affiliate Program is available to anyone -- bloggers, YouTubers, Podcasters, developers, user group leaders, or simply Social Media users -- who would like to get paid for promoting The Lunduke Journal.

How it works is simple:

  1. Send potential new subscribers to The Lunduke Journal using a custom URL.
  2. If that person purchases a paid subscription using your link, you get 50% of the subscription revenue for the first year of the subscription.

Not joking.  You and The Lunduke Journal split the subscriptions.  50/50.

How To Become an Affiliate

Interested?  Here's how to become an Affiliate:

  1. Create an account on Lunduke.Locals.com (free or paid).
  2. Email "bryan at Lunduke.com" with the subject "Lunduke Journal Affiliate Request", and include following details:
    1. The email address you use with your Locals.com account.
    2. A brief description of where you plan to promote The Lunduke Journal (blog, social media, YouTube, Rumble, podcast, forums, sky writing, etc.).  Include a link if applicable.

That's it!  If you are approved to be part of The Lunduke Journal Affiliate Program, you will be contacted via email -- which will include your affiliate link (which you will use to send potential subscribers to The Lunduke Journal).

Affiliate Program Details

Here's all the details.

  • You earn 50% of every referred subscription for 12 months.
    • Example 1: A Monthly Subscription ($6) will earn you $3 per month, for 12 months (for a total of $36 over the year).
    • Example 2: A Yearly Subscription ($54) will earn you $27 right up front.
  • Seriously.  50%.  You split the subscription evenly with The Lunduke Journal.
  • Payouts happen automatically -- handled entirely by Locals -- at the end of every month and are deposited via Stripe.
  • You don't need to be a big podcast or blog in order to take advantage of this.  Each request to join the Affiliate Program is considered on a case by case basis.
  • Participation in the Affiliate Program can be terminated at any time, should the need arise (such as if the Affiliate misrepresents The Lunduke Journal in some extreme way -- I don't anticipate needing to exercise this, but it's worth mentioning).
  • There is an absolute mountain of free material and subscriber exclusive perks (articles, videos, PDF eBooks, and more) which can be used to promote The Lunduke Journal.

If you have any additional questions, simply email "bryan at Lunduke.com".

The futility of Ad-Blockers

Ads are filling the entirety of the Web -- websites, podcasts, YouTube videos, etc. -- at an increasing rate. Prices for those ad placements are plummeting. Consumers are desperate to use ad-blockers to make the web palatable. Google (and others) are desperate to break and block ad-blockers. All of which results in... more ads and lower pay for creators.

It's a fascinatingly annoying cycle. And there's only one viable way out of it.

openSUSE says "No Lunduke allowed!"

Those in power with openSUSE make it clear they will not allow me anywhere near anything related to the openSUSE project. Ever. For any reason.

Well, that settles that, then! Guess I won't be contributing to openSUSE! 🤣

Lunduke taking Veteran's Day off

Today, we honor our veterans and their service to our nation.

Great men, like my grandfather who, during World War II, joined the Navy at 14 years old. He was a big, older-looking teenager… so, as was not unheard of, he lied about his age on the paperwork in order to go fight the Axis.

And his father, who joined in the year leading up to the start of World War I.

I am taking this Veteran’s Day off. In part to spend time helping my children learn about their family’s US military history (which goes back, on multiple lines, to the very beginning of our nation). And in part… to watch one of the greatest movies ever made, The Great Escape. Because, hey, Steve McQueen and James Garner! Pretty sure my Grandpa would approve.

Lunduke Journal shows will resume tomorrow (and I’ve got an awesome one lined up).

In the meantime, if you haven’t watched yesterday’s DHH interview yet, highly recommended. Watch (or listen) to it anywhere you like.

And, in the grand tradition of “Veterans Day Sales”, I’ve extended the 50% off all Lunduke Journal subscriptions discount through this coming Friday. Because I can. Pretty sure my Grandpa would approve of that too.
