An empty room. Only a handful of video views in 3 months. Even when sponsored by Google & The Linux Foundation... nobody is interested in DEl in Tech.
Ads are filling the entirety of the Web -- websites, podcasts, YouTube videos, etc. -- at an increasing rate. Prices for those ad placements are plummeting. Consumers are desperate to use ad-blockers to make the web palatable. Google (and others) are desperate to break and block ad-blockers. All of which results in... more ads and lower pay for creators.
It's a fascinatingly annoying cycle. And there's only one viable way out of it.

Our local fire station relies on a network appliance for their router as well as VPN access for a dozen people that need remote access.
I was asked to extract the config file to redeploy a new box.
I told them the MSATA drive has failed but since it’s only 16GB I can clone it with DDRESCUE same day.
Had them back up and running in less than 3 hours.
Sure I knew the right command but my Thinkpad T480 with Linux Mint did the heavy lifting.
Don’t spill chocolate milk on your M2 MacBook Air or my employer will charge you just enough to justify the repair but not so much you consider replacement.
Also I got a Time Machine backup by getting into target disk mode. (Slightly inaccurate because target disk mode was a thing on Intel Macs but there is a different method to nurse a bad apple silicon system over thunderbolt to another Mac)
