Lunduke Does Not Ban Any Tech Organization or News Outlet

GNOME bans anyone who links to Lunduke, OSNews threatens to kill Lunduke. How does Lunduke respond? By quoting them accurately... and not banning anyone.

Official GNOME Policy: Link to Lunduke, Get Banned

"Posting links to content from Lunduke is an immediate ban on GNOME [sites]." Seriously. This a real thing. The one word officially banned by GNOME. Apparently there is nothing, on Earth, that GNOME fears more... than Lunduke.

The futility of Ad-Blockers

Ads are filling the entirety of the Web -- websites, podcasts, YouTube videos, etc. -- at an increasing rate. Prices for those ad placements are plummeting. Consumers are desperate to use ad-blockers to make the web palatable. Google (and others) are desperate to break and block ad-blockers. All of which results in... more ads and lower pay for creators.

It's a fascinatingly annoying cycle. And there's only one viable way out of it.

openSUSE says "No Lunduke allowed!"

Those in power with openSUSE make it clear they will not allow me anywhere near anything related to the openSUSE project. Ever. For any reason.

Well, that settles that, then! Guess I won't be contributing to openSUSE! 🤣

Last week at The Lunduke Journal (July 28 - Aug 3, 2024)
GNOME Bans Saying "Lunduke". WINE Fixes AOL for Win 3.1 (Seriously). Python 71x Slower Than C.

I'll say this for "last week"... it was really freaking bizarre.  I mean, shoot.  GNOME made an official policy where they ban anyone who links to me.  First offense, no warnings!  Crazy!  Literally an official policy of punishing their own GNOME team members and users for reading a specific Tech Journalist.

Has that ever happened before?  I think... I think it's a first.

I'll be honest with ya: That was not on my 2024 Bingo card.  🤣

We also talked about a bunch of nerdy things this week.  Programming language benchmarks.  WINE fixing Windows 3.1 software bugs (neat!).  And a whole Q & A.  Good times.

The "Lunduke, Lunduke, Lunduke" Sale
Let's really tick off all of the organizations trying to silence "He Who Shall Not Be Named".

The Lunduke Jounal is being banned and attacked almost non-stop -- with many people being censored, silenced, and banned after simply mentioning the word "Lunduke".

To counter this assault on the only truly independent source of Tech Journalism -- and to have a little fun in the process -- we're going to hold a sale.  A very, very weird sale.

A sale with two different levels of discounts: One set of discounts available to everybody, and another (even deeper) set of discounts for people who get banned or censored for uttering "Lunduke".

An Extra Bonus: Every time someone subscribes to -- and talks about -- The Lunduke Journal... it royally ticks off all of the organizations and people trying to silence us.  That's one heck of a bonus.

Here's the details:

The Discounts For Everyone

Two, pretty fantastic, discounts which anyone can snag:

  • Yearly Subscription for only $37 (Regularly $54)
  • Lifetime Subscription for only $200 (Regularly $300)

The Discounts For Those Punished For Saying "Lunduke"

Then some additional discounts for folks who get censored (or banned) for posting a link to a Lunduke Journal story (or simply mentioning "Lunduke").

  • Yearly Subscription for only $27 (Regularly $54)
  • Lifetime Subscription for only $175 (Regularly $300)

See below for how to obtain all of these discounts.

How to Get: Discounts For Everyone

First, the discounts that are available for absolutely everyone.

Standard Subscriptions - $37 per Year (Regularly $54)

The most common way of supporting The Lunduke Journal is simply to pick up a standard Yearly subscription via Lunduke.Locals.com.  This gives you full access to the main community site on Lunduke.Locals.com and makes sure you will get every exclusive book, article, and video released.

Lifetime Subscriptions - $200 for Life (Regularly $300)

Want the benefits of a Standard Monthly or Yearly subscription... but want to pay once and never need to pay again?  For life?  Want to support The Lunduke Journal, in a big way, right up front?  The Lifetime Subscription is a great option: for $200 $300 USD.

  • Go to Lunduke.Locals.com/support.
  • Select "Give Once".
  • Enter "200" into the amount field.
  • After checking out, Lunduke will toss you an email once your account is set to full lifetime status (and you will have immediate full access).

How to Get: Discounts For Those Punished For Saying "Lunduke"

These the extra discounts for people who dare to utter the name "Lunduke"... and got banned or censored for it.  These discounts take a few extra steps... but they're super easy.  And you save some extra bucks.

Step 1) Take a screenshot of when you got banned (or censored... or threatened to be censored) because you posted something about Lunduke (including links to Lunduke Journal articles or shows).

Step 2) Then choose your subscription type from these two options...

Standard Subscriptions - $27 per Year (Regularly $54)

Email "bryan at Lunduke.com" with either:

  • An attached screenshot (which you took in Step 1 above) or
  • A link to somewhere you posted that screenshot (such as on social media)

Lunuke will then email you a super-secret link that will give you an extra discount (a total of $27 off) when you subscribe for a year.

Lifetime Subscriptions - $175 for Life (Regularly $300)

Grabbing the extra discount on the Lifetime Subscription to The Lunduke Journal is super, duper easy.

  • Go to Lunduke.Locals.com/support.
  • Select "Give Once".
  • Enter "175" into the amount field.
  • After checking out, email "bryan at Lunduke.com", using the subject line "Lifetime", with either:
    • An attached screenshot (which you took in Step 1 above) or
    • A link to somewhere you posted that screenshot (such as on social media)
  • Lunduke will toss you an email once your account is set to full lifetime status.

You really can't go wrong with any of these discounts.  They're all a fantastic deal... and they all directly support The Lunduke Journal... which is really going to piss off all of the organizations trying to silence us right now.

And that last part, all by itself, is pretty darned wonderful.

Funny Programming Pictures Part L
Yeah. The roman numeral for 50 is... L.

Several of the pictures you are about to see are of that Turkish Olympic shooter dude.  Because... they were all funny.

Also, all of these pictures are definitely about computers.  Wink wink.
