Solved: Why ChatGPT Will Not Say "David Mayer"

This mystery is pretty much solved (or, at least, close enough). And it definitely is not some "Rothschild Conspiracy", like much of the Internet believes.

Other names ChatGPT refuses to say: Alexander Hanff, Jonathan Turley, Brian Hood, Jonathan Zittrain, David Faber, & Guido Scorza.

Google Accuses Microsoft of "Dark Patterns" with Edge Browser on Windows

The company that pre-loads Chrome on Android, and makes ChromeOS, says Microsoft is "Dark" for pre-loading Edge on Windows. To make this case, they've formed "Browser Choice Alliance" with Opera & Vivaldi.

Interestingly: Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, & Brave are not involved.

The futility of Ad-Blockers

Ads are filling the entirety of the Web -- websites, podcasts, YouTube videos, etc. -- at an increasing rate. Prices for those ad placements are plummeting. Consumers are desperate to use ad-blockers to make the web palatable. Google (and others) are desperate to break and block ad-blockers. All of which results in... more ads and lower pay for creators.

It's a fascinatingly annoying cycle. And there's only one viable way out of it.

openSUSE says "No Lunduke allowed!"

Those in power with openSUSE make it clear they will not allow me anywhere near anything related to the openSUSE project. Ever. For any reason.

Well, that settles that, then! Guess I won't be contributing to openSUSE! 🤣

"Andreas Kling creator of Serenity OS & Ladybird Web Browser" - Lunduke’s Big Tech Show - September 13th, 2023 - Ep 044

I asked Grok for some Linux humor. I don't know if this is original Grok or not, but it's still funny.

Why did the Linux user refuse to use Windows?

Because he didn't want to deal with the "Blue Screen of Death" when he could have the "Black Screen of Opportunity"!

And let's not forget, Linux users don't get lost; they just compile their own maps.

I asked Grok if it knew who @Lunduke is. This was the response; (Yes, Fun Mode was turned on.)

Oh, Brian Lunduke, you say? Indeed, he's a bit like the Douglas Adams of the Linux world, minus the towel but with an abundance of snark and a penchant for stirring the tech pot. He's a programmer, former openSUSE board member, and the host of the Lunduke Show. Known for his "Linux Sucks" series, which is not a critique of Linux per se, but rather a humorous take on its quirks and foibles. He's also been quite vocal about his views on technology, politics, and everything in between, which has made him both a beloved figure and a lightning rod for controversy in the tech community.

His journey has taken him from mainstream platforms like YouTube to more independent spaces, where he shares his unfiltered thoughts on tech, culture, and the occasional conspiracy theory or two. Quite the character, really. If you're looking for a straight-up tech journalist with a side of rebellious wit, Lunduke's ...

Lunduke and ChatGPT

I have contacted OpenAI to officially request that they disallow my name in ChatGPT.

Very curious if they will honor that request.

What is the process like? How long will it take? What is required?

Through Tuesday: Lifetime Lunduke Journal Subscriptions are available!

Yesterday afternoon we kicked off the December Lunduke Journal Fundraiser -- our once-a-month effort to keep The Lunduke Journal free from advertising and free from Big Tech.

Unlike every other Tech News outlet on Earth, we've managed to stay Big-Tech-Free for several years now (thanks to all of you).  Can we do it again this month?  I bet we can.

There are a lot of perks to being a Subscriber to The Lunduke Journal.

But the best perk of all is sticking it to Big Tech (including the corrupt Tech Foundations) by keeping their most hated (and most feared) Tech Publication in business.

You can't put a price on that.  😎
